Chat with live tips

Tips on tiptalk.chat go inside the chat. Button, amount, animation, done.

A tip on tiptalk.chat is something the person on the other side can send you without leaving the chat. They tap a button, pick how much, and the animation appears instantly. You see it live, and the other person walks away feeling they thanked you for the time.

It’s far more direct than a separate payment app or a PayPal tab open somewhere else. The chat tips feature builds the tip in as just another message, with its own visual animation and its own entry in the wallet.

It works equally well for creators, for professionals charging for a short consultation, or for friends who want to treat you to something from a distance. The economics are the same: Tipsys that build up and convert into euros.

For the creator, receiving tips inside the chat has an advantage over the “pay at the end” model: the tip is given in the heat of the moment, right after the thing that makes you want to say thanks. That’s psychologically easier than opening another app to send 2 € cold.

The tip animation is subtle — it doesn’t interrupt or cover the chat. It only appears for a couple of seconds as a flying emoji, and it’s logged in the history as a system message.

For cases where you want to thank someone for something specific — a useful answer, a joke — you can leave a tip on that particular message. That way you know what the tip was about when you look back at your history later.

There’s no high minimum: the smallest tip is 25 cents (2 Tipsys). The largest is open — the person picks the amount. If your room moves well, average tickets tend to land between 50 cents and 2 €.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to pay to send a tip in a chat?+

To send tips you first buy Tipsys (1 € = 8 Tipsys) and send them with a click during the conversation. There’s no extra cost per individual tip; the cost is buying Tipsys.

Can I send tips to several people at once?+

You have one wallet, and the Tipsys in it work for any room. If you open several rooms, you can send tips in each one using the same balance.

How do tips work?+

Tips are called Tipsys. 1 € buys 8 Tipsys. When someone sends you Tipsys they build up in your wallet, and you convert them to euros whenever you want to cash out (10 Tipsys = 1 € on the way back to euros).

How much does it cost to create a room?+

Creating a room is free and always will be. The only thing you pay for is tips, because they are real money moving from one person to another. If you just want to chat and call, you pay nothing.

What happens to my messages when the room closes?+

When you close the room (or after 24 hours), we delete every message, photo and video that was uploaded. Nothing stays on our servers beyond the tip transaction record, which we are required to keep for tax purposes.
